Built over two floors, Solid State Logic’s product demonstration area (PDA) is a suite of six fully functioning production suites that are used for demonstrations, training sessions, testing and product development. An additional three workstations are located nearby which can be accessed from each suite as required. As the amount of technology used across the PDA has grown, the manual patching that routes signals between the suites and the workstations has also grown increasingly more complex. This highlighted the need for an IP KVM switching and extension solution to allow switching between the PDA’s suites and workstations. Given that audio consoles are frequently used in conjunction with video images, for example when matching pictures to sound in postproduction, a KVM installation with pixel perfect image quality was crucial.

SSL’s PDA is now fully equipped to be used for a huge variety of production tasks from demonstrations, testing and training sessions. The ADDERView DDX can deliver fluid Apple format DVI video with no latency-related issues therefore circumventing the problems previously faced with other vendors whose processing platforms are severely slowed by Mac DVI.
